Rohingya Refugees

Support Our Rohingya Campaign

The Rohingya people, recognized by the United Nations as one of the most persecuted minorities in the world, continue to face a dire humanitarian crisis. Originating from Myanmar, they have been subjected to decades of oppression and violence, leading to mass displacement and refugee crises across Southeast Asia.

Our Journey with the Rohingya Refugees

Our commitment to aiding the Rohingya began when waves of refugees arrived in Indonesia, seeking sanctuary from the relentless persecution they faced in their homeland. Notably, significant groups of Rohingya refugees found refuge in Aceh, Medan, and Lhokseumawe. Their arrival in Aceh was particularly poignant, with local communities and international aid organizations stepping in to provide immediate relief.

  • Aceh: The first group of Rohingya refugees arrived in Aceh in 2015, fleeing violence and seeking a safe haven. Their arrival was a testament to their desperate escape from persecution and their long journey across the sea.
  • Medan and Lhokseumawe: Following the initial arrivals in Aceh, other groups found shelter in Medan and Lhokseumawe. These areas became critical points for humanitarian assistance, with camps set up to address the immediate needs of the refugees.

In response to this crisis, our organization visited these refugee camps directly, providing essential aid and support. Our efforts in Indonesia marked the beginning of a broader mission to assist Rohingya refugees across Southeast Asia.

Expanding Our Reach

Recognizing the extensive needs of the Rohingya, both within Myanmar and in refugee camps like Cox's Bazar in Bangladesh, we expanded our efforts. Working alongside partners, we've delivered:

  • Shelters: Providing safe, durable housing for families who have lost everything.
  • Blankets and Clothing: Essential for survival, especially during the colder months.
  • Medicine and Healthcare: Addressing the dire health needs arising from overcrowded living conditions and limited access to medical care.
  • Food and Nutrition: Ongoing food supplies to ensure that no one goes hungry, focusing on the nutritional needs of children and pregnant women.

Our 2024 Goal

For 2024, we have set a goal of raising $50,000 to continue our support for the Rohingya. This fund will directly contribute to addressing the ongoing needs of the Rohingya in Burma (Myanmar), Cox's Bazar, and other areas where refugees have sought sanctuary.

The Plight of the Rohingya

The Rohingya crisis is not just a regional issue but a global humanitarian concern. As the UN's most oppressed people, the Rohingya face challenges that are hard to comprehend: statelessness, violence, discrimination, and the constant threat of being forgotten by the international community.
